Welcome to Missoula Neighbors United's Homepage!

We are a community organizing group based in Missoula, MT, that is building resource-based power among the overworked, underpaid and discriminated against locally and beyond.

We develop community power through unionization, increasing access to needed resources, and building a culture and political platform oriented to the working community.

We believe in a future where communities don’t have to beg to obtain the bare minimum, and are able to expand beyond the concern of meeting their basic needs.

It is with determined optimism that we lay claim to the future that is ours to shape.

What we do

Housing Organizing

Building housing unions and a policy platform in Missoula and around the State of Montana for stronger housing rights related to ownership, quality, and affordability. We are currently building a union across “public housing” complexes.

Fight for better Housing

Environmental Organizing

Working to push back against harmful developments related to resource extraction and the privatization of public lands. As well as creating an energy plan that will allow technology and nature to co-exist harmoniously into the future.

Protect Our Nature!

Labor Unionizing

We are currently assessing labor laws as well as where energy for labor unionization is strongest in the City of Missoula and the State of Montana. We are looking to build systemically-minded unions that understand the fight for labor rights extends far beyond the individual workplace.

Political Campaigning & Leadership Development

The political system in America is rotting and the injection of independent working-class leadership is the only cure. We identify and develop leaders through community organizing efforts and help prepare them for political campaigns. We are looking to find leadership for local, county, state, and federal office.
